What the R36 Pro actually is

The R36 Pro's headline feature is its hall-effect joystick. Conventional sticks use physical potentiometers that wear down and eventually produce "drift" — input the console registers when you are not touching the stick. Hall-effect sticks read a magnetic field instead, with no contact surface to wear out, so drift does not develop.

It pairs that with a 4000 mAh battery and the widest emulator support claimed in the family.

One caution, and we would rather say it than not: we could not match this model to a single trustworthy Amazon listing at the time of writing. The button below runs an Amazon search for it rather than pointing at one seller, so you can judge the listings yourself.

What sets it apart

  • Hall-effect joystick — magnetic sensing, so it cannot develop stick drift
  • 4000 mAh battery, matching the Max
  • Widest emulator claim in the family
